eros the bittersweet

consumed | poem twenty four

beneath the silken
night sky
the seconds expel
the lingering scent
of the silk
that covered your
nakedness,
mirroring your
shadow,
your uninterrupted,
bright and
furtive smile
pushes my soul
to collapse
like leaves descending
into the lips
of autumn,
the days change
in your skin,
earth and
rain
collides.

and the day came when the risk to remain tight in the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.
