eros the bittersweet

and i named it 'eros'

my lifetime and i went to two staggering ends of manila today in search of the perfect equipment. after scouring stores that branched to no end we then decided we should head back to glorietta to check, yet again, the specifics (and freebies) of this nice, overwhelming machine.

and glorietta it was.

a twenty minute ride, php 130+++ long, we got our butts out of the cab and headed straight to the second floor. as soon as we got in, i set my eyes out and sifted one face after another, looked for the laptop overlord named bren. he found us looking helplessly at the shelves, trying to decide whether we should get brand s or brand h - scrutinized the specs and compared the cost, haggled with bren about the freebies and other useful under the table applications.

i would have to give it to the guy. he somehow made it 'painless' to call the shot. we ended with brand h - because it has always been known to be dependable, and because of the free 8 gig imation usb and the optical disc drive i have yet to claim.

before going home, my lifetime urged me to think of a name for my new 'play thing.' i took her suggestion and thought long and hard, and finally decided to name it 'eros,' a homage to this blog - the testament to my never-ending attempt to harness what i think i can be good at.

'eros' is my lifetime's present, and up until this very moment, as i attempt heedlessly to write again, i am still in awe of what she did, not only because of what she has given but how she expresses how much she cares about my passion - writing.

here's my first photograph with 'eros:'

and the day came when the risk to remain tight in the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.
